BIOGRAPHY
Born in Miami, Florida Franceasca Seiden, Director, Writer & Producer, is the founder of 3GZ Productions, an independent film production company dedicated to making films inspired by generations of music and underground culture. Her short films, Out of Sync and The Theater have been featured at the Miami Beach Cinematheque’s “Women In Film†and “Experimental Film & Video Night†which she served as Creative Director for. Wicked Garden, her 3rd short, is a personal memoir, set in the 90’s unveiling Miami’s suburban latchkey kid lifestyle through the eyes of a sixteen-year-old girl coping with loss and experimentation during a revolutionary time of music and economic change. Seiden recently directed and produced Second Act, a story of two Brazilian women who come to the U.S. with hopes of breaking into acting. She produced the award winning and internationally acclaimed feature documentary Darkbeat an Electro World Voyage, a futuristic educational film reliving the years when hip-hop emerged and transformed into international electro beats. Darkbeat is an official selection in over ten international film festivals and won best documentary in the Miami Underground Film Festival. The film toured European festivals in November 2007 including the Shreveport Documentary Film Festival.
As creator of 3GZ Productions, Franceasca continues to serve as a consultant on numerous narrative films, music videos and documentaries. Seiden and her partner Iris, B. Cegarra has been featured in a cover story in the Miami Herald twice. 3GZ and its original content have been included in a variety of periodicals, television interviews and websites. Seiden’s mission with her company has always been to express the edgy side of Miami, Florida without all the Hollywood movie glamour attached. Receiving her BFA in Visual Arts/Photography from International Fine Arts College and MFA in Film Production from Miami International University of Art & Design, Franceasca continues to work with MTV, National Lampoon, A & R Biz, and Universal Music among others. She is presently lead instructor for the Florida Film Institute teaching high school students the hands on approach how to make a their own short film on 16mm. In 2006 her students won The Fort Lauderdale Film Festival “Best Short Film†award. The Miami Herald and Miami New Times have featured Franceasca and her 3GZ co-founder Iris B. Cegarra as the up and coming voice of Miami’s filmmaking generation. She is heavily involved with Miami’s film, art, and music community.
