Bio:

Josie Basford, a director, producer, director of photography, painter and musician who resides in Los Angeles. In her 7 years of film experience, she has worked in every department of filmmaking. She believes, "In order to become an excellent
filmmaker, one must understand all areas of both the business and
creative sides." This has helped her define high points and talents
ultimately making her a valuable, trusted and successful director, director of photography. and producer.

Being a true risk taker, Josie began carving her path in film where she
was given multiple production roles on her first film job. She was
assigned the tasks of Production Designer, Lighting Designer, Hair,
Makeup, Wardrobe and Continuity for a digital feature. Confident with
her talents and education in fashion, makeup, hair, design, construction
and the arts she wsas fully armed for that daunting task. After seeing
her work and vision come to fruition she has continued in filmmaking as
her passion and career.

Since then she has produced, directed and shot a series of her own noted and award winning narrative, experimental and documentary films and music videos.
Concurrently she has freelanced as a Director of Photography, Production
Designer, Hair, Makeup, Wardrobe, Boom Operator, Sound Mixer and more.

With a remarkable eye, her imagery is consistently engaging and beautiful, and
she communicates a life of varied experience through the moving image.
Her respect for actors and her philosophy as a director continues to
impress those who come in contact with her. She is infinitely serious about her
craft. As a Producer her keen business sense and leadership are truly added qualities assuring success.
